What song best describes your life?
The Long and Winding Road

If you had to pick only one, who would you say is your favorite band?
BB King

What are your three favorite albums and why?
Tones by Eric Johnson is just a brilliant palette of inspired sounds. Can You Still Feel? by Jason Falkner is a masterpiece of pop inspiration--and he played & sang every single note on it. And Live at the Regal by BB King is essential, period.

Wow. Too hard to pick. Eric Johnson? U2 on the Joshua Tree tour? The Who? SRV & Jeff Beck?

Porcupine Tree

What is your favorite album cover?
Uh... The Atomic Bitchwax have pretty consistently great covers

The three listed above

I like Pink, as well. From the second album on when she started going more rock and less hip-hop.

What song best describes your life?
"Fear is a Man's Best Friend" by John Cale

If you had to pick only one, who would you say is your favorite band?
I can never pick only one. Maybe the Who.

What are your three favorite albums and why?
At the moment?
The Kids Are Alright by the Who because it contains definitive performances of some of their greatest material.
In Absentia by Porcupine Tree because I discover new things every time I hear it.
The Words We Say Before We Sleep by the Music Lovers because it set a new standard for songwriting for me.

What is the best concert you have ever attended?
Tough choice. I've seen a hell of a lot of incredible shows. It would have to be either one of the half-dozen BellRays shows I've seen (they're consistently mindblowing) or the Femi Kuti show at Stubb's a few years ago - the closest I've ever come to a genuine spiritual experience.

What is your favorite love song?
I've actually never thought about this. Umm...how about "My Funny Valentine?" Or maybe "Something" by the Beatles.

Who would you most like to see in concert that you haven't already?
Porcupine Tree.

What is your favorite album cover?
London Calling by the Clash.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with a CD player, what three albums would you want to have with you?
I suppose, to encompass the pop music experience for what is likely to be the rest of my life, I'd have to have an album of each of these: rock, soul and other. So I guess it would The Kids Are Alright, Sly & the Family Stone's Greatest Hits and Femi Kuti's Fight to Win.

If you were to start a band, what would you name it?
I ain't tellin', so nobody beats me to it.

What is your favorite music video?
They all suck.

What band and/or song brings back the most memories from your childhood?
CCR.

What musician do you find the most attractive?
Susanna Hoffs is still a hottie, even going on 50. Jenny Lewis from Rilo Kiley is damned adorable as well.

If you play or were going to learn to play an instrument, which would you choose and why?
I choose to really learn to play guitar competently. If you mean besides my current primary, that would be piano.

Band or musician you are most embarrassed to admit that you once liked?
Toto.

What is the first CD you ever purchased?
Holy crap...I'm lucky I can remember what I had for breakfast. Umm...believe it or not, I think it was a copy of an album by a British band called Levitation (a spin-off of House of Love, for any Anglophilic music geeks reading this) that I fished out of a dollar bin at Half-Price Books not long after I first bought a CD player.

Who do you think has the most creative band name?
Explosions in the Sky, because the name so perfectly encapsulates their music.

Which do you prefer: buying albums or downloading music?
Buying albums, baby. Downloading music is fine for sampling artists or records, but until the audio quality of a MP3 file matches that of a CD or vinyl album, it will always be ephemeral to me.

What do you think is the best movie soundtrack of all time?
Hedwig & the Angry Inch.

What song that is currently on the radio do you feel is the biggest beating?
I'm...not real sure what's meant by this. Do you mean what song on the radio makes me feel like I've had a beating? Uh...pretty much any of those pseudo-alternative hard rock bands with the angst-ridden-yet-macho singers makes me want to hurl myself out of the car window.

Which band or artist do you most wish would disappear from the face of the earth?
The Grateful Dead.

Michael is a true romantic! Both of those are great love songs.

And I recently read an article that suggested that reggae and hip hop can cause seizures.
